Most brands rely on words and concepts to gain exposure and generate revenue. Effective marketing is a combination of creative and analytical sharpness fueled by imagination and a closet full of colorful thinking caps. Let the hangers fall. Let the horses play.
Litigation is stressful. Its dynamics are complicated, and its effects can be lasting. Individuals faced with personal legal problems need individualized attention, solid understanding of what’s happening, and peace of mind that someone skilled is looking out for their best interests. And small businesses need smart help from start-up to clean up and in between problem solving to help maximize profits and minimize liability.

There is perhaps no other area of law more emotionally charged than family law. Even the most minor of issues can turn into a sticking point that doesn’t seem resolvable. In family law, the issues may be delicate, but the laws governing them are not. Judges are mindful of the children and what is in their best interest, but fashioning an arrangement that is best for the children and the parents isn’t easy.
When you married your spouse, you entered into a contract. When you divorce your spouse, you are dissolving that contract. That contract involves your children, your finances, your assets, your debts, and the specific circumstances of your life. It’s about as personal as it gets.
Division of property, assets and liabilities, alimony, and parenting time and responsibilities become not just your business, but matters for a judge to decide if the parties cannot reach an agreement. It is often terrifying to put those matters into the hands of someone who doesn’t and can’t know all the colors of your life and circumstances. Knowing how the law will apply to your situation can bring peace of mind and help you shield you and your children from unnecessary emotional stress and protect your financial life from the pitfalls of divorce. Some couples may even qualify for a simplified, uncontested divorce, which is typically the least adversarial and least expensive route to dissolution of marriage.
A special note about same sex divorces
Along with the right to marry for same sex couples comes the right to divorce. While same sex marriage is not brand new, same sex divorces are occurring. Most of the issues involved mirror those of heterosexual divorces. However, there are issues of property division and child custody matters that are either not typical and require expertise, or present new issues that courts have yet to consider or are still grappling with. Namely, these issues include parental responsibility depending on the legalities of how a child or children were brought into and deal with legally (or not) in a same sex marriage.
Life is a series of hills and valleys. Family law matters don’t’ have to be a drawn out nightmare. Divorce happens. Let’s deal with it so you can move forward.
